Few garden peonies offer such vibrance of colour as Paeonia 'Félix Crousse'. As a cultivar, it’s more than 140 years old, having been bred by one of France’s great plant nurseries during the 1880s. It has stood the test of time like few others. Its large, globe-shaped flowers are of a stunning magenta-purple. Each petal of Paeonia 'Félix Crousse' is ruffled, and has a silvery sheen. Established plants seem to keep producing flowers for weeks and weeks throughout early summer. Oh, and the blooms are richly scented, too.

The flowers of Paeonia lactiflora 'Félix Crousse' are set against a backdrop of beautiful dark, glossy foliage. This outstanding perennial peony is perfect for cottage garden-style borders, but equally they look wonderful when grown as specimen plants in a modern setting.

Paeonia 'Félix Crousse' is such a good garden plant that the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM). Incidentally, it is an extremely good cutting variety too, and has been grown extensively for commercial cut flower production across the world.
