- Blooms early, already in May and maintains flowering till September; develops flat inflorescences consisting of sterile white flowers inside fringed by a ring of fertile flowers; its flowers pink when young, white on their rims, when ageing turn purple and blue which makes the plant display pink, violet and blue inflorescences creating a cloud of flowers which is beautifully displayed against a background of bold green foliage.
